How to get tomato sauce out of carpet

Blot first, do not rub, then treat with equal parts white vinegar and cool water; tomato sauce can permanently stain carpet.

1. Blot the tomato sauce with a clean cloth to lift what you can.
2. Mix 1 part white vinegar with 1 part cool water.
3. Dampen a clean cloth with the vinegar-and-water solution.
4. Blot the stained area with the damp cloth.
5. Rinse by blotting the area with a clean cloth dampened with cool water.
6. Blot again with a dry clean cloth, turning it so a clean surface is always against the stain.
