How to get urine out of wood

Blot urine immediately with clean cloths, then clean with enzyme detergent using minimal cool water; the best outlook is with prompt treatment.

  1. Blot up as much urine as possible with clean cloths.
  2. Mix a small amount of enzyme detergent with cool water.
  3. Dampen a clean cloth with the mixture and blot the stained area.
  4. Dampen another clean cloth with cool water and blot to rinse lightly.
  5. Wipe dry immediately with a clean cloth.
  6. Repeat with enzyme detergent if odor remains after the wood is dry.
Don't do this
If urine odor or discoloration remains after enzyme detergent treatment, use a commercial product made for this, used per its label. Some stains may not come out fully once they have penetrated or discolored the wood.
