How to get rust out of tile and grout
Blot rust on tile and grout first with cool water and dish soap; rust stains may be very difficult to remove.
- Blot the stained area with a clean cloth dampened with cool water.
- Mix dish soap with cool water.
- Blot the stain with the sudsy cloth.
- Rinse by blotting with a clean cloth dampened with cool water.
- Blot dry with a clean cloth.
Don't do this
- Do not rub, because rubbing can spread the stain or stress the grout.
- Do not keep working the area aggressively, because rust stains may be very difficult to remove.
- Do not leave suds on the tile or grout, because residue can remain.
