How to get water marks out of porcelain
Blot the water marks with a white vinegar and cool water mix first; porcelain can scratch, so use only gentle contact and expect stubborn marks to need a product made for this.
- Mix 1/2 cup white vinegar in 1 quart of cool water.
- Dampen a clean cloth with the mix.
- Blot the water marks gently; do not rub.
- Use a soft brush only if the marks need light loosening.
- Blot with a clean cloth dampened with cool water.
- Blot dry with a clean cloth.
Don't do this
- Do not rub; hard rubbing can scratch and dull porcelain.
- Do not scrub hard, even with a soft brush; porcelain can scratch, especially if it is already compromised.
- Do not use scraping pressure with a dull knife or spoon; scraping can damage the porcelain.
If the water marks remain, use a commercial product made for this, used per its label. Stop before repeated scrubbing dulls or scratches the porcelain.
